The Laetacara curviceps, commonly known as the dwarf flag cichlid, is a small and beautifully colored freshwater fish native to the slow-moving streams and tributaries of the Amazon Basin. Renowned for its iridescent blues, greens, and golds, this species displays a subtle yet striking beauty that intensifies during breeding. Reaching an adult size of about 3 to 3.5 inches (7.5 to 9 cm), the Laetacara curviceps remains compact and well-suited for medium-sized aquariums. Unlike many cichlids, it is known for its peaceful and gentle temperament, making it an excellent choice for community aquariums. It thrives in soft, slightly acidic water with temperatures between 75–82°F (24–28°C) and appreciates a well-planted tank with driftwood, leaf litter, and hiding places to mimic its natural habitat. These cichlids form strong monogamous pairs and are attentive parents, carefully guarding their eggs and fry. Suitable tank mates include other calm species such as tetras, rasboras, corydoras catfish, and small peaceful gouramis. With proper care, a balanced diet, and stable water conditions, the Laetacara curviceps rewards aquarists with both its charm and engaging behavior.

These fish are young adults and are a very good size, approx 3".  Sold a s a pair although there is no guarantee that the 2 selected will actually be a pair because the differences between the sexes are not obvious and we could make a mistake.  However, we do everything we can to sell these fish as a pair.
